As you know – we love books! So, we were excited by a recent opportunity to talk with the people from Storey Publishing in North Adams, Massachusetts. Some of our favorite craft books have been published by them (we love to sew, crochet, knit and spin, too – keep your eye on this page for some of our recommendations for kids looking for craft and DIY books). While we talked, they showed us some of their new and upcoming titles. The below book was one of these.
Wild for Horses is a great book for anyone who loves horses. It features over 40 different breeds of horses from Andalusians to Appaloosas leaping, splashing and frolicking on 24 full-color posters, with interesting facts, horse-inspired sayings, and a short paragraph on each horse on the back of every poster. In the back of the book, there are also 24 flashcards of different kinds of horses which include a picture, as well as the height, color, and other information about each breed shown on the reverse side. There are also 2 extra-large fold-out posters, finishing off this excellent poster collection full of facts, pictures, and plenty of horses.
If you like horses, you will like this book! Kids (and adults!) of all ages will enjoy the gorgeous pictures, and older children will appreciate the facts and quotes on the backs of the posters. Both Super Kitty and Piranha T. thoroughly enjoyed it, and would recommend it to kids of all ages.
