We love to read!
How many of you have ducked into closets hoping to find yourselves in Narnia? Stared at your nightlight in the dark, willing Peter Pan to fly in the window and blow it out? Hoped the girl sitting next to you would turn out to be as funny and mischievous as Ramona Quimby? Wondered, if you sat still long enough, an animal would trust you enough to speak plainly?
We have!
We're two teen siblings, currently ages 17 (Nico) & 19 (Lina), who love reading, writing, and sharing our passion for both with others. We founded Rapunzel Reads back in 2014 to share our favorites and spread the literary love!
Over the past nine years, we've shared hundreds of book recommendations, interviewed dozens of our favorite authors, and connected with even more readers through our Instagram page (where you can follow us now @rapunzelreadsbooks!). Always focusing on inventive, exciting, and well-written stories for kids and teens, our mission from the start has been to help promote literacy and a love of reading by helping others find books they'll treasure forever.
We read a whole range of books--fiction, nonfiction, long & short stories, verse books and graphic novels--but we focus on middle-grade and young adult fantasy and realistic fiction starring relatable, diverse characters, exciting plots, and beautiful writing. And we love when readers of our blog share their own favorites with us, too--if there's a book you loved and want to share, please send us a review!
Everyone knows that Rapunzel spent her early years locked up in a tower. We’d like to think she read plenty of books to while away the time, and that she’d appreciate our own favorites.
