From Piranha T.:
The Power of Poppy Pendle is about a girl named Poppy who discovers - by accident - she is magic. Her parents want her to be a witch, while she wants to be a baker. So when they sign her up for Ruthsfield Acadamy, a school for witches, she is tortured. When she is seven, it is time for her to start at the academy, and when she starts, she is tortured even more. This book is very good, and I don't quite know what my favorite part is. I love it all - the beginning, the middle, and the end. In other words, I like the whole book. Poppy is a great character, but with her magic, her parents don't listen to how much she wants to be a baker. I recommend The Power of Poppy Pendle to readers.
From Super Kitty:
Most children aren't born with magic. So Poppy's parents are thrilled when Poppy is, and won't listen when she tries to tell them she can't stand it! For Poppy has a passion for baking, not magic. Poppy tries and tries to tell them this until one night she runs out of patience and runs away to the nearby bakery. Will her parents find her?
I like this book because it is fun to read and it is written really well. I also like how Poppy likes baking.
